Half hour to 45 minutes nice chilled bottle of champagne
Tip:
If you are in a hurry to enjoy your champagne, to chill the bottle faster for the first 1-2 glasses, turn the bottle upside down with the cork into the ice water. Chill for 15-20 minutes.
Pop the cork by removing the outer foil to expose the wire cage.
Flip down the ring of the wire cage and turn 6 half turns counter clock wise, to free the age.
Leave the cage on, and cover the cork with a towel use your thumb to cover the cork.
Now turn the bottle on a 45 degree angle, holding the cork use your hand on the base to turn the bottle (it is important not to turn the cork) turn very slowly until you hear a soft swoosh, and ease the cork out of the bottle. Now pour the first couple of glasses half way full, and save the luscious bubbles.
It should go without saying, but do not put it back in upside down, place it the correct way back into the ice bucket.
Always serve your champagne in fluted champagne glassware. This is the absolute perfect combination as the fluted champagne glasses help reduce the surface area allowing the sparkling wine or champagne to have limited contact with the open air, and allowing the bubble to dissipate and escape quickly.
Champagne should be served chilled, and the fluted glasses provide stems that are necessary to keep your hands away from the glass and warm the wine.
